Margaret Grundstein is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. Her private practice focuses on children, families, couples and individuals. Margaret works from a psychodynamic base, but understands that it is through an awareness of our actions, combined with the small decisions we make on a daily basis, that change takes place. The past informs the present, but the goal is to create a present that better serves us. Margaret understands that a comfortable therapeutic relationship, along with a client's motivation, are crucial for the success of the process. With that in mind Margaret offers prospective clients a brief first meeting, for no charge, to assist them in deciding if she is the right therapist for them.

Margaret has been in private practice for over twenty years during which time she also worked for six years helping run co-parenting classes for parents in high conflict divorce. This experience generated an interest in the area of divorce, leading Margaret to take the Streamlined Collaborative Divorce Training and join the Marina Collaborative Divorce Group. Margaret also worked for a year as a therapist in a residential substance program, ran a group at Vista del Mar for gay fathers and has extensive experience facilitating parenting groups. In addition to her private practice Margaret is the owner and executive director of First Years Preschool in Venice. She has been involved in Early Childhood Development for over forty-four years, experience which brings depth to her work as a therapist. Margaret's education includes a Bachelors Degree in History from Goddard College, a Masters in Urban Planning from Yale and a Masters in Family Therapy from Loyola Marymount.
